Oncortaget Making Scientific Research Available

September 27th, 2017

A study by Amit Sud, Richard Hou, and Kari Hemminki reveals that Hodgkin Lymphoma survivors are more likely to suffer from second cancer. The risk is even higher for survivors who have a family history of cancer. The study sampled 9,522 patients diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma between 1965 to 2012 from the database of the Swedish Family-Cancer Project. Over the periods, not much has been done to lessen the risk of the second occurrence of cancer among Hodgkin Lymphoma survivors despite the differences in patient treatment and management over the years. As such, the probable reason is the screening and treatment process maintains the risk.

The findings provide useful insights that oncologists can follow up in treatment and care of Hodgkin Lymphoma. The report prioritizes utilization of molecular and clinical information in the treatment process. Personalizing care and treatment will curb the risk of second term cancer in the long term. Also, practitioners can gain a better understanding of subsequent therapies, in particular for survivors and more information click here.

Even as precision medicine gains prominence, the blockchain movement is also taking over the medical sector. Companies such as Insilico Medicine are leveraging artificial intelligence. Recently the company presented its finding on the applicability of reinforcement learning and generative adversarial networks in management, reconstruction, quality control and validation of data on blockchains and what Oncotarget knows.

Blockchains are enabling unimagined alternatives that are applicable in healthcare. Through blockchain, we can learn more using multi-modal sets of data securely. Technology quickens the validation, evaluation, and control processes. Platforms such as that from Exonum have features and applications that utilize blockchain technique and Oncotarget’s lacrosse camp.

Oncortarget purposes to use research through peer-reviews to improve healthcare and increase the body of knowledge. It is a journal that is free to access and releases publications twice a week online. The primary mission of Oncotarget is to eliminate the prevalence of diseases by making scientific data accessible widely and quickly, sharing discoveries, linking experts and eliminating border restrictions. The organization has become popular due to its insightful, challenging and regular reviews. Other than oncology, Ontotarget accepts articles and papers in Neuroscience, Cell Biology, Metabolism, Pharmacology, Endocrinology among others and more and Oncotarget on Facebook.
