Omar Yunes Contribution to the Mexican Franchise Sector Was Honored in the 2015 Best Franchisee of the World

The 2015 Best Franchisee of the World awards held last year December in Italy, saw Sushi Itto’s franchisee, Omar Yunes, carry the day. The ceremony that had attracted representatives from 34 countries, including Brazil, Hungary, France Italy, Argentina, Mexico, and Portugal, was presided over by the Anahuac University and the Mexican Association of Franchises. The awards were evaluating a franchisee based on the impact she or he made to the network regarding expertise accorded to the network, employees’ motivation, and proposed amendments to the network model as well as how much influence one created. Coming in second was Ivan Tamer of Prendamex, who was honored for his contribution to the new marketing system that controls the pawnshop’s network.

The Top Award

Omar was given the top award for his contribution to Sushi Itto. According to Mexico organizer for these awards, Diego Ellizarrarras, Omar won the top award for the change he influenced in the franchising-franchisee relationship. These changes resulted in better management of information and control measures implementation that brought about clear units evaluation. Omar, who also grabbed the first position in the national qualifier, dedicated the award to the team at the firm noting that he was just their representative. He also appreciated Sushi Itto for giving him a chance to be innovative. Sushi Itto’s CEO, Benjamin Cancelmo, added that the awards signified the team work at Sushi Itto that is dedicated to giving an exceptional hospitality experience to the clients. The awards also showed the growth of the Mexican franchise sector from regional to the international level.

Omar Yunes entered the business arena when he was very young. He joined the Japanese food chain, Sushi Itto, in 2010 at 21 years of age. He has since grown the chain to 13 franchise units in different locations, such as Mexico City, Veracruz, and Puebla. Omar Yunes also has an interest in the real estate sector, having invested in a condominium in 2007. He also bought a house in 2009 in Polanco. As an outstanding businessman, Omar Yunes was chosen to represent Mexico in the Best Franchise Awards with the case of professionalizing the role of a franchisee.
