Global Growth Announced by Honey Birdette

July 7th, 2017

If you haven’t yet heard about Australia’s first and most successful boutique lingerie store, Honey Birdette, you surely will by 2018. The company recently announced that they are in rapid expansion mode, launching 40 new stores in the United Kingdom and a brand new E-Commerce platform for its customers in the United States.

A bit of background: Honey Birdette is owned and founded by Australian entrepreneur Eloise Monaghan. It started with one location and how now grown to 55 locations across Australia. Each store has a luxurious sexy decor and their famous black doors have become a destination that people in Australia travel to visit and those who visit Australia have on their checklist to visit when they come.

Honey Birdette got its beginnings when Monaghan and a friend expressed frustrations over a glass of champagne that Australia did not have the type of luxury lingerie boutiques that had become so popular in places like London and France. Well, that is no more. Customers now can drink champagne while they shop and ask questions and get suggestions from the company’s famed Honeys.

Honey Birdette opened its first non-Australian locations in the United Kingdom last year, including one in London. These first three locations did so well that they are now rolling out up to 40 additional stores in the next few years. The locations will first be opened in Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle and Westfield Stratford. Following those locations success, there will be many more opened, reaching 40 total by the close of 2018.

Honey Birdette also kicked off the launch of its E-Commerce site that is made for its American shoppers. American sales on the company’s website soared to over 370% last year, which is when they knew a website tailored specifically to Americans was in order. The new site offers things that American shoppers have been long awaiting for: faster shipping across the pond, additional items available to them and even free shipping with purchases over $50.
