Why not escape to one of the largest ski resorts in California? Squaw Valley Ski boasts 3,600 acres and six peaks of suitable land, and 30 lifts and the only funitel in the U.S. You’ll find the resort west of Lake Tahoe where they get around 40 feet of snow each year.

There’s no doubt the resort has thrived with CEO Andy Wirth who was appointed in 2010. Upon appointment, he had 24 years of experience in the mountain resort and hospitality management industry. Recently he was named chairman of the RSCVA Board. He works to keep up the resort’s reputation and honor its strong Olympic history. In fact, Wirth plays a big role in supporting disabled sports. He was presented the second annual Citizen of the Year Award by Disabled Sports USA in 2014. Under his direction, the resort sponsored the annual “Ability Celebration.” This event is a week-long sports camp for injured military members.
