There are more than 7,900 restaurants in New York City. If all the delis, cafes, and other eating establishments were added to the list, there is more than 24,000 eating establishments in the City. There is a list of the 100 best restaurants in New York, and food critics and editors are constantly trying to add names to the list. One of the top Italian restaurants in the city is Tarallucci e Vino. Tarallucci e Vino is an Italian type wine bar and restaurant that has enough space for wedding, birthday, and anniversary parties, as well as for other special occasions. Tarallucci e Vino has four locations, and all locations are perfect for special events. It’s hard to make it to the top of the New York restaurant industry, but Tarallucci e Vino did it with excellent menu selections and impeccable service. Tarallucci e Vino has special rooms for large parties that include more than 100 guests, and in New York that is an important feature. Everything is supersized in the City that never sleeps, and New Yorkers love to host big parties for special occasions.

Tarallucci e Vino is also one of the most inviting restaurants for two people that want to celebrate quietly, or just want to dine in an atmosphere that brings Italy into focus. The Union Square location is decorated like an Italian wine bar, but there are event rooms that look like an Italian artist was given a free hand to decorate and furnish them. The East Village and Upper West Side locations have the same Italian flair.

If Italian restaruant specialties are still the first choice, Charlie Bird may be the place to go. Charlie Bird is definitely on the top 100 list. The music that fills the dining rooms set the tone for a private dinner for two or a special party that includes 50 or more guests. The restaurant is a work of art, and the food is a combination of American specialties and Italian regional favorites. Charlie Bird’s SoHo location is always busy. In fact, is has been busy ever since it opened in 2013. Reservations are required but remember, in SoHo, time is not measured the same way. Be prepared to wait a little. It’s New York. Everybody waits.

Babbo is another award-winning Greenwich Village restaurant and a favorite local spot. Babbo was the recipient of the James Beard Foundation’s Best New Restaurant Award for 1998. The menu is a delightful mixture of Chef Mario Batali’s incredible creations. Chef Batali is a master at using the freshest seasonal produce, meat, game, Italian cheeses, and seafood. The entrees are accented with pure virgin Italian olive oils, traditional Aceto Balsamico, and other unusual ingredients that usually surprise and delight guests. Babbo is another great event space. There is plenty of room for big parties, but it’s important to book in advance. Babbo has been opened since 1998, but the restaurant is as popular now as it was 18 years ago.
